Kait Warner (she/her) is a multidisciplinary performer, writer, and composer. She crafts haunting, genre-bending work across music and theatre, blurring the lines between the sacred, the supernatural, and the absurd. Her work cracks open archetypes of femininity, death, bizarre historical phenomena, and ecstatic transformation.
As a composer and lyricist, Kait released her debut album Rodeo Clown in 2024, earning praise for its emotionally rich and genre-defying sound. Glide Magazine called it “a striking work of art pop… achingly beautiful,” while Psychedelic Baby described it as “a collection of literate chamber-pop.” Her lyrics have been described as “Shakespearian” and as “darkness made to shine,” blending literary depth with emotional resonance.
Kait’s performances and projects have been seen at The Public Theater, La MaMa ETC, HERE Arts Center (Prototype Festival), City Lyric Opera, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Recent highlights include her featured role in Heather Christian’s Terce (a New York Times Critic’s Pick), and her genre-blending solo show Take It Away, Cheryl—a darkly comedic tale of possession, emotional labor, and self-acceptance set in a carnival hellscape, described as “first-rate hilarity” (Broadway World) and “a hell of a ride” (Neurodiverse Review).
Kait holds a BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts (Experimental Theatre Wing), where she is now an adjunct instructor. She is currently developing a new original rock opera based on the Dancing Plague of 1518, exploring mass hysteria, healing, and the ecstatic potential of collective experience.
